Apricot Appeal

You know how there are just some colors that you don't have a great relationship with? Well, apricot appeal is one of them. And here it is paired with blush blossom and I think that it looks OK!
I stamped the images from 'Say it with Scallops' (a set we got free at Convention last year!) in blush blossom, and then stamped the big image from 'Baroque Motifs' over the top and clear embossed them.
I used this card for a swap I was in, and then had it on hand to send to a friend for her birthday. It is always so much easier to just write on a card that's already made, than try to get inspiration when we have to have a card to get in the mail in the next 10 minutes! Pacific Point layout

Remember this card that I made yesterday? Well, while I had all of the supplies out, I thought that I would make a page at the same time!
That's a HUGE time-saving tip for you - while you still ave all of your table messy, and you have all of the leftover bits of paper laying around, make something else! This is especially useful for using up scraps to make a card (I know, I did it the other way round, but I usually make a card after I've made a page!)

Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet stems, Contempo Alphabet
Paper: Pacific point, whisper white, bashful blue patterns DSP
Ink: pacific point,basic black stampin' write, sage shadow
Tools: cutter kit, blender pen (to color the flowers)

So next time you have out your supplies, make them work for you and create a card, or a scrapbook page, with what you have on the table in front of you! And if you need any card stock, or other supplies, give me a call to place an order for you.

Pacific Point Panels

Isn't this pretty? I made another card very similar to this one yesterday (that will be seen on my Facebook page when it's up!) but it was made using retired colors. I loved it so much that I just had to make it out of current colors, and pacific point hasn't had much use of yet!

But stay tuned for more of this idea- i also used the same idea and supplies to make a scrapbook page that I'll show you tomorrow!

And take a look at that ribbon - cool, huh?! It's actually whisper white taffeta ribbon that I colored using the pacific point ink pad. I used the heat gun to dry it (I was being a Little impatient!!!!) but noticed that it started to shrink from the heat. And I liked it!!!

So next time that you don't have ribbon handy to match your colors, think about inking them up with a classic ink pad - the results are great!

Oh - and remember that we are starting to wind up this year's In Colors - so if you like the look of Pacific point, now is the time to stock up before it goes away for good come June 30th! Call me to put your order in before you miss out!

Build a page Tutorial

I'm not too sure if that is what you call it, but it's what I call it!!! I thought I would show you the steps that I took to create the page from yesterday's post here.


First, I started with a simple 6x6 layout. (Sorry about the photos - they shot a bit weird!!!)

So then I just placed 2 more photos and a journalling box on 8.5 x 11 plain Chocolate Chip cardstock that I had versamarked some of the roses onto. You can't see the roses very well, but they are in the top, left-hand side of the CC page.

Again, fairly simple, but a nice page if you use this sized album.

Then I simply added another photo on a mat with some journaling, being careful to overlay them (so it doesn't look 'added' on later!), made some simple ribbon corners to tie it in to the original 6x6 page, and finally added another water colored rose onto the layout! And there you have a page that was 'built' on a 6x6 page!

Watercolor Rose Layout

This is a layout that I created in honor of Piet's Mum - my mother-in-law. It was hard to be away from both of our Mums this week, so it was only natural that I would think of her when I saw the roses. These are sensational accents for pages about mothers, love, or really any feminine page.

I also created this page using the "Build a Page" technique - start with a 6x6, build to 8 1/2x11 and then finally a 12x12. This is such a great technique to use when you want to highlight a special photo, or if you make a 6x6 in a class. I'll post a tutorial on it later on this week.

How cool is this rose???

I used watercolor paper, embossed the image and used a new technique that I learnt from another SU! Demonstrator, Patty Bennett.

I LOVE these things!!!

Patchwork Card

This is one of those cute patchwork cards that are popping up all over the place!

We're going to make this next week for my Fabulous Friday cards (on on Thursday too!).

It uses the Sale-a-bration papers cut out to 1 1/4" and then run through the Big Shot with the exclusive Top Notes die. I love that thing!
