I'm ba-ack!!!!!

Our visit 'home' to Australia was wonderful. But after nearly 3 weeks it already feels like a distant memory!

I (mistakenly) thought that I would get some stamping done while I was away!!!! Hmmmm - I know that you are not at all surprised that it just didn't happen! But I have managed to get some done since we have returned. Wanna see?

How gorgeous is this? I made it for my good friend Kimmy - and I hope she likes it! And also that she doesn't look too closely! I'll let you in on a little secret - I placed the tag on upside down!!!!! The En Francais Script is now upside down too! I am just loving how 'bunching' up the ribbon like this (and why - yes - that IS the technical term!!!) gives such a vintage, girly feel. Just pretty - like my Kimmy!!!

This color combination is way off what I would have chosen - I am just delghed with all of the new color combos that the Color Coach is giving. It gives some of the most imaginative selections ever!

Faux metal tiles

Doesn't it look like one of those old tin roofs that you see in old houses?

This looks so much better in real life - the silver is shiny! And this is such an easy technique to make. The 'tiles' are actually silver embossed paper run through one of the Big Shot Embossing folders. Easy peasy - I think that we'll make this at my next Fab Friday card class next week!

Stampin' Up! embossing folders

Here is another Thank you card. I just love this color combo! The new Color Coach from Stampin' Up! is amazing - it creates combinations that I would never think of by myself. Do your creative side a favor and put one of these babies on your next order (#121620, $14.95)

I used two different embossing folders for this card - the square lattice embossing folder (exclusive to SU!) #119976, $7.95 is the one for the back layer, and Finial Press embossing

folder, #115963, $7.95 (also exclusive to SU!) is the one in the front panel. These are such a great way to add texture to your card for a bargain! Seriously - my Big Shot is the hardest used tool in my stamping room. WHAT? You haven't got one yet? Book a workshop now so that you can use your BONUS $25 Hostess Benefits towards it.

The only stamping on this card was the heat embossing of the sentiment. It all came together so easily, that this was the second one with the same layout that I made. You can see the other one over here on my Facebook page.

I've just had one of the best weeks ever! If we forget that part of it was turning 40 (I've learnt to say that without it sticking in my throat anymore!!!), I had a surprise visit from my sister and her family from Australia!

Piet threw me a party and so now I have a lot of thank you cards to send - what a great reason to get down into my stamping room and get inky!

This one uses some of the new DSP from Stampin' Up! called Newsprint. It's FABULOUS!!!! It's black print on Very vanilla, and can you say GORGEOUS!!! You will be seeing a lot more of this coming up!

I also used one of my favourite colors that returned from past In Colors - Baja Breeze. I still had some ribbon that matched and it seemed to add that finishing touch.

The image from Upsy Daisy was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with black embossing powder. Then I just sponged some of the Baja Breese ink around the embossed image and matted it on a Baja Breeze card base.

The sentiment was also heat embossed in black and I punched it out with a retired (and sadly missed) punch.

Anything but a card

I'm having dinner with two of my favorite people tonight, and so I thought that I'd make them each a little 'treat'!

A friend showed me a little book that someone had made her to write her prayers in, or for Bible verses, and of course I had to try to duplicate it!!!! Using the Big Shot, this was a breeze, and you could use all manner of different embellishments to individualize them. I can see a lot more of these in my future!

I made a little book mark to go in each book, and made a little pocket for them to sit in. Here's a closer look at both of them... try one yourself!

Aren't these the cutest? I was inspired by some of the projects that came through my inbox overe the weekend (but of course I never remember where they came from, sorry)

The drwers are madw ith the Big Shot matchbox die. I think it would be adorable to hold little jewellery items, or on your desk to hold litle stationary thingys!

These little boxes are sooooo very easy to make! Using the Big Shot Box #2, you simply cut out 2 and attach them together on the back. Easy peasy. I think I will add in some little notelets and it will make a very lovely little gift for someone! We all know that there are never enough little homemade gifts for those times when just a little something is in order! But it would also be very cute with a gift card tucked into it, or some 'special' chocolates! I just know that this will be a go to pressie for me!

But it holds a secret - you would not believe how incredibly fantastic this is!!!!! You open it up and inside it folds out to hold about 15 photos! REALLY!!!!

I found this on a demonstrator website that I am a member of, and it looked cute so I thought I would give it a go. I had no idea just how cute it would be - and it is fairly easy!

Here is a look at the inside from the top - it's really hard to get a good shot to see how it all folds out, but this gives a pretty good idea.

Bestest teacher gift ever!

How fantastic is this???? I got up really early to finish off the cards (because I stayed up with my man last night!!!!) but I am so glad that I did!
The purse holds all four of the cards (and there was even enough room to put her "thank You" card in there as well!) The pocket is a working pocket, so you could place a gift card in there if you wanted. It is simply stunning, and looks even better in real life!
Now, I can't take credit for the design, although I wish I could!- that incredible privilege goes to Becky Roberts, and she did an amazing job! Thanks Becky!!!
